What is depth effect?

Three layers. One lock screen.

Depth effect puts the clock behind the main subject of your photo, so a mountain peak, a leopard or a rose can overlap the numbers. It looks like the iOS lock screen style, built for your Samsung phone.

    Use your own photos or start from the curated wallpapers. Either way, the depth effect lands on the clock and date.

  • Colors that match

    Tint the clock and date to suit the photo. Hour and minute each get their own color.

  • Fonts with attitude

    Swap the clock and date font to fit the mood of the wallpaper, from calm and thin to bold and chunky.

  • Horizontal or vertical

    Lay the clock out sideways or stack it tall, whichever the photo has room for.

  • Depth transparency

    Smoke and clouds deserve better. Adjust depth transparency for an even more striking effect.

How it works

Three steps to a deeper lock screen.

  1. Pick a photo.

    Choose one of your own or a curated wallpaper.

  2. Style the clock.

    Set colors, font, orientation and depth transparency until it feels right.

  3. Set it and hide the system clock.

    Apply the wallpaper, then hide the standard clock for the full effect. The in-app tutorial shows how.

Is it free?

Yes. DepthFX Wallpaper is free to download, with optional in-app purchases.

Which phones does it work on?

It's built for Samsung phones running One UI (One UI 8 is supported) on Android 9 or newer. An alternative for other devices is coming soon.

Why do I see two clocks?

Your phone's own clock is still showing. For the full effect, hide the system lock screen and home screen clock. The app includes a tutorial that walks you through it.

Does it drain my battery?

It's a wallpaper, and I don't publish battery numbers because I haven't got any to promise. If you notice something odd on your phone, tell me and I'll look into it.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

For exactly what the app does with data, please read the privacy policy.

Can I use my own photos?

Yes. Pick any of your photos, or start from the curated wallpapers and customize them.
